ADVERSE ACCREDITATION NOTICE-December 17, 2024
Metropolitan Learning Institute was informed by its accreditor, the Council on Occupational Education (COE), that it was being placed on financial probation on September 19, 2024, and that this status was being continued as of December 12, 2024. The reason for this was a negative financial composite score on the school’s 2023 Annual Audited Financial Statement. This announcement serves as notice of this status within the mandatory 7-day posting period to all students at the school-and to the general public and the COE within the 21-day mandatory period, as per Department of Education regulation section §602.26 (b), as amended July 1, 2024.
UPDATE-December 17, 2024
After transmitting a claim form and instructions to students, MLI is in the process of paying out the CARES Act/CRRSA/ARP funds it had received earlier to eligible students. Due to the time elapsed for many graduate students and the difficulty in reaching many of them, this activity is expected to conclude by January 2025.
UPDATE-October 25, 2024
After working with the United States Department of Education’s Emergency Response Unit (ERU), Office of Postsecondary Education, MLI has drawn down $1.2 mln in un-disbursed HEERF Funds to distribute to students. This drawdown effectively resolves the principal reason for the mandatory triggering event which caused MLI’s negative composite score as mentioned above, and its placement on probation status by the COE in the first place.
